Moldova's Reintegration Policies Bureau: Tiraspol rejects convening of first meeting of experts in statistics field

Tiraspol has rejected the convening of the first meeting of experts in statistics field. The Reintegration Policies Bureau (BPR) today made statements to this effect.

According to the BPR, Tiraspol continues to obstruct the addressing of topics of interest for the residents on both banks of the Dniester River.

“This time, the convening of the first meeting of experts in the field of statistics was again turned down, despite agreements made at the meeting of political representatives on November 19, 2024, and subsequently on April 8, 2025, in the presence of OSCE officials,” BPR said.

Chisinau's proposal is aimed at initiating working discussions, with the goal of aligning the methodology of collecting and processing statistics data across the entire country, according to principles applicable in the European Union.

“The national authorities' initiative is a continuation of discussions in dialogue platforms within the negotiation process for the Transnistrian settlement, benefiting the residents on both banks of the Dniester, but they are constantly blocked by Tiraspol under various pretexts,” BPR informed.

A meeting was supposed to take place in the 1+1 format on 3 April, but Tiraspol rejected its organization.
