Washington, first stop of official visit to USA by Moldovan parliament speaker

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu is on an official visit to the United States, where he will meet high-ranking officials from the U.S. Congress, the White House, the National Security Council and the Department of State.

The speaker said that, in Washington, discussions would focus on strengthening American support for reforms in Moldova, enhancing national security and developing bilateral cooperation.

"We are in Washington, at the beginning of the official visit. We will have meetings with American officials in the Senate, at the Department of State. And we will definitely talk with Moldovans settled here," Igor Grosu said.

After meetings in the U.S. capital, the Moldovan delegation will continue its visit to Chicago and North Carolina, where discussions are scheduled with local authorities and the Moldovan community of the USA.

Igor Grosu conveyed a message of gratitude to the Diaspora, emphasizing its role in promoting the image of Moldova abroad and supporting democratic transformations in the country.

The official specified that he would provide additional details about the results of the visit on the days to come.
