Another Moldovan prosecutor proposed for promotion of external integrity evaluation
The Prosecutors' Evaluation Commission has completed the procedure for evaluating the financial and ethical integrity of Irina Catan, previously delegated to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (PA). Evaluation Panel B found that she met the legal criteria and forwarded the proposal for promotion by external evaluation to the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP).
The Commission's report will be published after the CSP decision’s contestation period expires, and the CSP is expected to decide on the Commission's proposal within 30 days.
The evaluation involved a thorough analysis of the declaration of assets and personal interests for the past five years, as well as other relevant information regarding the subject's ethical and financial integrity, collected from 140 sources.
During the procedure, the Commission requested clarifications from the prosecutor through four rounds of written questions, followed by public hearings held on October 17, 2025.
So far, the Commission has received 191 prosecutors' names for external evaluation. Forty nine evaluations have been completed, 29 prosecutors have resigned or have been excluded from the procedure and 113 evaluations are ongoing.
