More opportunities to study Chinese for students of Moldova
Students of Moldova will have more opportunities to study the Chinese language and participate in international educational and cultural activities, as well as summer or winter camps organized in China. These opportunities will be accessible based on an agreement due to be signed between the Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun said that the signing of this agreement represented an important step in developing the Moldova-China bilateral relations by promoting educational, cultural and academic exchanges.
“Essentially, our Chinese colleagues will continue to support us in Chinese language study programmes. They will assist with curriculum development, teachers’ training and the organization of language proficiency testing. Scholarships for studies in China will also be provided and Moldovan students' participation in such competitions as the Chinese Bridge will be supported.”, said Minister Dan Perciun at government meeting.
The agreement establishes the general framework for bilateral cooperation in teaching the Chinese language, including sending Chinese teachers and volunteers to educational institutions of Moldova, training local teaching staff, offering study scholarships in China, developing teaching materials and organizing language proficiency testing.
The document will be signed at the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference, which will take place in Beijing.
