Over 162,000 applications for energy compensation submitted in two days

Over 162,000 applications for energy compensation during the cold season were submitted in the first two days since the registration was launched on http://compensatii.gov.md platform. Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru unveiled the data.

“Up to this moment, 162,633 requests have been registered on compensatii.gov.md platform to request heating compensation for 2025-2026 cold season. 81,852 requests were submitted with the help of registrars”, announced Plugaru.

Green Line employees provided support in the registration process for about 4,000 people who called for questions and clarifications.

Help at the Meter program offers for the fourth consecutive year energy compensations to vulnerable households for November-March. The process of submitting applications for energy compensations was launched on 3 November.

Household consumers can benefit from compensations if they heat their home using natural gas, thermal energy, electrical energy, or solid fuel such as wood, coal, pellets, or briquettes.

Compensations will be offered in the form of monetary payments, made monthly. Beneficiaries can receive the money on a social card - if they also receive other state allowances, at any post office in the country, or in a bank account opened in the name of the main applicant.

The information system will individually calculate the compensation value for each household, based on the family's income, number of members, and their status (minor, person with disability, student), so that the support is provided proportionally to the needs of each family.

In 2024-2025 cold season, authorities allocated a budget of 2.69 billion lei, of which 1.15 billion lei were provided by partner countries, predominantly European Union members. In total, over 760,000 families, or about 1.4 million people benefited from financial support in the previous season.
