The national reforestation campaign Autumn 2025 was officially launched on 15 November in the village of Mihailovca, Cimișlia district. Here, 27 hectares of new forest will be planted. Planting actions will take place in all districts of the country, giving each citizen the opportunity to participate.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, members of the cabinet of ministers, representatives of state institutions, and all those willing to join the planting action.
The reforestation campaign autumn 2025 is part of the National Program for Forest Expansion and Rehabilitation #ForestGeneration, initiated by President Maia Sandu, through which 145,000 hectares of land will be planted nationwide by 2032.
In the first two years since the launch of the National Program for Forest Expansion and Rehabilitation, over 15,000 hectares of forest have been planted, with an investment of over 300 million lei. A significant step in expanding this effort is the historic financing agreement signed in 2024 between the Ministry of the Environment and the European Investment Bank, worth 200 million euros. This funding will allow the planting of another 63,000 hectares of forest and the development of the necessary infrastructure to ensure the long-term sustainability of this ambitious program.
This year's campaign will consolidate the progress made in previous years and will continue Moldova's strategic objective of having a sustainable, ecologically and economically balanced forest fund, while also contributing to achieving the climate and sustainable development targets assumed at national and international levels.
