Moldovan exports on Romanian market exceed deliveries to Commonwealth of Independent States countries

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/- Moldova exported  goods amounting to 59.4 million dollars to the Romanian market in the first two months of 2016, up by 11 million dollars against the deliveries to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, according to data made public by the National Statistics Bureau today.

Romania has become the biggest sales market of Moldovan products, given that the exports to the CIS market dropped a good deal more than to Romania, respectively 22.6 per cent, against 6.5 per cent.

A large decline was recorded in supplies to the Russian market, which decreased by about 30 per cent in January-February 2016.

Romania, Italy, Russia, Germany and Belarus are the main countries of destination for Moldovan goods.

Russia ranks first among the countries from which Moldova is importing goods - imports worth 104.1 million dollars. Romania, China, Ukraine and Turkey are on the next positions.

In January-February, Moldovan goods' supplies to the foreign market decreased by 18.5 per cent, whereas imports dropped by 13.8 per cent. Moldova exported goods amounting to 255.2 million dollars in the first two months of this year and made imports estimated at 494.4 million dollars.

In the first two months of 2016, the exports of goods to the European Union countries amounted 167.8 million dollars (down by 20.3 per cent against the same period of 2015). The exports to the CIS states fell by 22.6 per cent. The imports of goods from the EU states amounted to 217.4 million dollars in January-February 2016, down by 10.2 per cent against the same period of 2015, and from the CIS states decreased by 16.2 per cent.
