Moldovan PM chairs meeting of standing committee for monitoring cases of increased social interest

Chisinau, 5 August /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip has chaired a meeting of the standing committee for monitoring cases of increased social interest. The participants in the event considered the evolution of the recovery of assets and financial means, marketing pledges, repayment of emergency loan, as well as the work of law enforcement bodies in charge of investigating the theft in the banking system, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip showed interest in the way civil actions are considered in courts, in which the commercial banks under liquidation are parties, especially terms of the actions' examination. The PM stressed that the terms should be reasonable, in order to ensure faster recovery of assets.

Additionally, the prime minister demanded permanent monitoring of the banks' liquidation process, in particular, the way expenses are born and identifying solutions to optimize the spending. 

At the same time, Filip insisted on ensuring transparency in recovery of assets by monthly publishing information, so that the citizens should be informed about all stages of recovery and repayment of the emergency loan, as well as measures taken by authorities to this end.

The committee was set up following an initiative by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and represents a platform of discussion, meant to ensure interaction between the state institutions, in order to efficiently and quickly manage cases of increased social interest.
