Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ – At the beginning of the Cabinet of Ministers sitting today, Prime Minister Pavel Filip came up with a number of clarifications on the initiative of President Igor Dodon on canceling the law of passing public debt credit emergency, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The prime minister said that that law was a consumed legal act, because the money was already foreseen in the state budget, those agreements were concluded and the annulment of the act could not produce legal effects. Similarly, Pavel Filip said that the Constitutional Court reviewed several complaints in this regard, even one submitted by the Socialists’ Party, which was rejected.

At the same time, the prime minister came and addressed the Moldovan citizens not to be manipulated by populist statements of politicians, generating false expectations. "I want to bring you just one example, next year in the State Budget Law there are provided 650 million lei for emergency servicing of this loan. If we had not do it and if we had not approve that law, in 2016 we would not have received €60 million from Bucharest, $35 million from the International Monetary Fund, €45.3  million from the European Union as a grant, consisting around one billion lei, and $45 million from the World Bank. This money means, first of all, roads, kindergartens, schools and social projects for Moldovan citizens," said Pavel Filip.

Also, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers said that politicians had to be honest with people. "The government and the parliamentary majority have proposed to themselves and are honest to Moldovan citizens, even if sometimes reality is harsh, even if the projects with which we come are not very popular," the prime minister said.

Finally, Pavel Filip called on the opposition to be open to constructive cooperation. "We can live together with the President, we can work together, I would propose to myself a collaboration," concluded the Prime Minister.
