IMF expert to provide assistance to Moldovan tax body

Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/- An expert of International Monetary Fund will assist the State Tax Inspectorate within the technical assistance project supported by the Dutch government. Shawn Gale will work under the State Tax Service throughout the period of the project (3 years), according to a press release by the service.

The technical assistance project goals are focused on such areas as: management of large taxpayers (large companies and their subsidiaries), tax compliance of private people with high incomes, organization reform and capacity building of counteracting tax evasion of proportion.

Under the press release, during the first working week, Gale will attend various meetings with the leadership of Finance Ministry, Main State Tax Inspectorate and its subdivisions, in order to update information on priority areas of tax administration.
