Moldova's annual allocations for agriculture to account for at least two per cent of state budget revenues

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/ - The annual state budget allocations, cumulatively with other sources, for the national fund of developing agriculture and rural environment will account for at least two per cent of the state budget’s approved revenues, under the law on principles of subsidization in agriculture and rural development, due to published in the 3 March issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).    

The new law will allow improving the system of subsidizing the Moldovan farmers and adjusting this system to the good European practices. Thus, this will allow planning and establishing measures of subsidizing, according to the national strategy of agricultural and rural development for a period of at least five years, thus ensuring continuity of the support measures.  

Also, facilities will be provided to young farmers and measures of stimulating the  native producers of equipment, backing young agricultural producers/women, through increasing the quantum of subsidies, possibility to provide subsidies in advance and providing the subsidy for the investment made and gradual applying of the direct payment for one hectare of tilled land starting from 2020.  

At the same time, the document sees that, beginning with 2020, the agricultural producers who are not registered in the database of the agricultural integrated information system will not be able to access subsidies.  

The law enters in force starting from 1 January 2017.
