Posta Moldovei enterprise makes application for indexation of Moldovan citizens' money deposits at Banca de Economii, pays indexations

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today made more amendments to a decision from 2003, in order to adjust it to the Law from 3 November 2016, which sees that the reception of the applications on the indexation and payment of the indexed sums will be made through the state enterprise Posta Moldovei (Moldova’s Post).

The amendments and completions operated by the government specify the duties of the central commission for indexation and way of payment of the indexed sums for citizens’ money deposits in Banca de Economii (Savings Bank). Also, the amendments and completions provide for the way the citizens may submit applications on indexation at offices and agencies of the Posta Moldovei enterprise.    

The payment of the indexed sums started in 2003, and till 16 October 2015, the date when the licence of Banca de Economii was withdrawn, about 690 million lei was paid to the indexation beneficiaries from state budget means.  

In 2015, according to a government decision from 16 June 2015, beneficiaries of indexation were depositors born till 1991 inclusively, for the payment of the indexed sum related to the first phase and the depositors born till 1934 inclusively, for the payment of the indexed sum related to the second phase. According to the applications submitted till 2015, the indexed sum, which is to be paid to depositors in the second phase, amounts to about 720 million lei.
