Joint control commission considers situation at peacekeeping posts in southern sector of Security Zone

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - Participants in a 9 March ordinary meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) considered 15 subjects. At a request by the Russian delegation, lieutenant-colonel Valentin Ostroverkhov and major Pavel Tretyakov were confirmed in offices of military observers. Major Dmitry Razhewskiy of the apparatus of the military attaché of the Russian Embassy in Moldova was appointed member of the Russian delegation to JCC, according to Moldova’s Delegation to JCC.     

Under the agenda, the weekly reports of the Joint Military Command (CMI) on the situation in the Security Zone were heard and approved.  

Also, the member of the delegations to JCC, accompanied by representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission in Moldova, inspected the peacekeeping posts from the southern sector of the Security Zone.  

The Commission’s representatives were familiarized with the conditions in which peacekeepers were carrying out their work, the contingents’ readiness condition, state of the equipment and technology owned.   

The JCC ascertained that the military’s service activity in the peacekeeping operation took place according to the provisions of the JCC regulations and CMI instructions.   

Discussions on other subjects concerning the work of the Joint Control Commission will continue at the next meeting.
