Moldova, France mark 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations' establishment

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) welcomes the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Moldova and France. The ministry voices confidence in the continuous advancement and deepening of the Moldovan-French bilateral dialogue in diverse fields of common interest, the MAEIE information and media communication service has reported.  

On the occasion of marking the anniversary of the diplomatic ties, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur conveyed a congratulatory message to his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault. In his message, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy highlighted “the ascendant dynamic of the bilateral relations during the 25 years – an aspect confirmed by the intensity of the political dialogue, economic, sectoral cooperation and inter-human relations, as well as by the cultural affiliation and Francophone values both countries are sharing.”   

Minister Andrei Galbur expressed appreciations for the political support provided by France to Moldova’s European integration, as co-initiator of the European Action Group for Moldova. At the same time, the official said that “this anniversary offers also an occasion for summing up the achievements marking the bilateral relations, as well as for a renewed commitment of efficient turning to account of opportunities for their extension and development, based on the punctual carrying out of the Agenda of Moldova’s Association with the European Union.”   

Also, on the occasion of marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations, a festive event on inauguration of an exhibition of photos on the topic of Moldovan-French ties, titled”25 ans et quelques,” took place at the National History Museum today. A stamp with special obliteration, 25th Years of Moldova – France Diplomatic Relations, representing the Triumph Arches of the two states, and a personalized stamp, both worked out by the enterprise Posta Moldovei (Moldova’s Post) on the occasion of the anniversary, were launched at the event. Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Daniela Morari and Ambassador of France to Moldova Pascal Vagogne gave speeches at the inauguration of the exhibition.         

Note: Moldova established diplomatic relations with France on 11 March 1992.
