Moldovan national philharmonic hosts concert dedicated to European cultural values

Chisinau, 10 May /MOLDPRES/ – A classical music concert for pupils dedicated to the promotion of European cultural values was organized at the "Serghei Lunchevici" National Philharmonic in Chisinau today, with the support of the EU Delegation in Moldova.
Pirkka Tapiola, the head of the EU Delegation in Chisinau, present at the event, mentioned that that educational concert brought together young talents and professional musicians of both banks of the Dniester river, because Europe "focuses on friendship, on things done together, and not on competition, but on cooperation."
"The European Union is something that views into the future, and you are the future of Europe and how can we celebrate its future without you, if not through concerts dedicated to the promotion of our values?" said the official to the young audience.
Musicologist Irina Martiniuc, art master and moderator of the event, talked about the history of the foundation of the European Union during, the performance, and about the most famous classical works created by the composers from the European Community countries.
On the concert stage performed: Andreea Tican, young singer from Romania, Denis Riscovei (violoncello), Radu Ratoi (accordion), Cezar Bordian (pen-pipes), Ana Oboroc (violin), ensemble "Flautele fermecate" (Enchanted Flames) from Tiraspol, directed by Grigore Moseiko, dance ensembles "Soarele" (The Sun), "Versia" and "CrisStyle" from the Republican Centre for Children and Youth "Artico", accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra of the National Philharmonic "Serghei Lunchevici", directed by Mihail Agafita, the People's Artist.
The concert was presented twice: for pupils in national schools and for the ones in alolingual schools. A performance for students will be presented on Friday, 12 May, at 18.00, in the same institution.
