Moldovan KFOR-7 contingent commences missions in Kosovo

Chisinau, 07 July /MOLDPRES/ – The National Army soldiers, stationed in Kosovo KFOR peacekeeping operation, began executing missions in the area of responsibility.
According to the commander of KFOR-7, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Taranu, for one month, the military carried out security and defence operations of the strategic importance objectives, security missions of Camp Vilaggio Italy, including the Decane Monastery. Similarly, Moldovan officers and non-commissioned officers, together with those in the Italian contingent, were trained by their colleagues from Austria and Hungary, on "fire phobia" and crowd control.
Also, the group of Moldovan contingent sappers execute research missions and the detection of explosive objects on Mountain Cviljen.
Lieutenant Colonel Taranu added that during the term of office, the KFOR-7 contingent is to carry out patrol and guard missions to important targets in the area of responsibility.
The KFOR-7 contingent, consisting of 41 professional service men, including a senior state officer, seven gens and a platoon of infantry, was deployed in Kosovo on 05 June 2017.
