Moldovan prime minister dialogues with children of Diaspora

Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip participated at the official opening of the fifth issue of DOR Program – Diaspora. Origins. Returns. which gathered a hundred Diaspora children from 14 countries today. The Prime Minister welcomed the participants in the summer camp, urging them to have a nice time and spend it usefully, meeting new friends and finding interesting things about their parents' origin country, traditions and national customs, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

"I want to tell you – you came back home and remind you that it is very important to know your origins and the country where your parents where brought up and formed. We are always waiting for you," said the Premier.

Also, Pavel Filip said that the departure of Moldovan citizens abroad has been painful, expressing regret that all the conditions for the citizens of Moldova to feel good at home have not been offered yet. The head of the Government showed confidence that Moldova would continue to develop and ensure good living conditions for its citizens, no matter where they are, inside or outside of Moldova.

Similarly, the Prime Minister urged our Diaspora citizens to promote the image of the Republic of Moldova and to speak proudly about their homeland. "There is no need to praise the authorities in the country, but it is very important to love Moldova. Only together we can make this country beautiful, so that we, our children and our grandchildren, to be proud of it," said Pavel Filip.

During the event, participants in the DOR Program had artistic presentations and talked to the Prime Minister, addressing the most diverse questions: from his professional work and Moldova's development prospects to childhood adventures and his hobbies.

Over 400 children from 15 countries have so far participated in the five editions of the Government DOR Program. The 2017 issue includes 100 children from Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Romania, Moldova, Spain and Ukraine.
