Chisinau, 04 September /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister, Andrei Galbur, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Slovak Republic, Miroslav Lajčák, today,  in the margin of the Bled Strategic Forum, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

Minister Galbur expressed his gratitude for the constant support given to the modernization process of Moldova by the Slovak state, especially for the development assistance provided in this respect.

Another topic of interest in the discussions was the issue of regional and international developments, as well as cooperation priorities within international forums. The head of the Moldovan diplomacy congratulated the Slovak counterpart on his election as President of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, underlining the fact that Moldova has supported the priorities of the President elected and would cooperate in an efficient manner to achieve those objectives.

Also in this context, Minister Galbur presented the arguments that were at the basis of the request of Moldova to include in the agenda of the 72nd session the subject dedicated to the withdrawal of the Russian military forces from the territory of Moldova. It was hoped that this step would allow for a constructive examination of the issue, on the UN platform, of the illegal staying of Russian troops in Moldova over the recent 25 years.
