Moldovan foreign ministry hosts training course in economic diplomacy

Chisinau, 5 September /MOLDPRES/- On 4-6 September 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAIE) hosts the training on investment and export promotion of the Republic of Moldova, the ministry's information and media relations service has reported.

The event is organized with the participation of Moldovan diplomats, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) and the Moldova Investment and Export Promotion Organization (MIEPO), with the support of the International Cooperation Agency of Germany (GIZ).

At the opening, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Lilian Darii highlighted the role of economic diplomacy and the centralization of national institutions efforts to achieve the economic diplomacy priorities, in particular to streamline the activities and increase institutional capacity in the field of investment attraction and export promotion.

The event is the result of signing of the MFAEI-ME-MIEPO Memorandum in July 2017, on the organization of the annual training courses and programs in Chisinau in the field of economic diplomacy, for the representatives of the diplomatic corps of the Republic of Moldova from abroad. The signing of the document is part of the actions established in the Common Order no. 144-b-12, dated 20 February 2017, regarding the implementation of the economic diplomacy priorities, optimization and efficiency of the commercial-economic offices (divisions) in the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad, as well as their interaction with the public authorities.
