Electricity prices not increasing in Moldova; National Energy Regulatory Agency makes clarifications
The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) announces that the regulated electricity prices applied to end consumers will not change. The clarifications were made in the context of information that has appeared in the public space on an increase in electricity tariffs.
According to ANRE, the draft regulated prices for the supply of electricity by suppliers of last resort are currently published on the institution’s official website for consultation and consideration.
"These draft prices concern exclusively the last-resort electricity supply service and apply only to consumers who, in the situations provided by law, are temporarily left without a supplier and are taken over by designated suppliers to ensure the continuity of electricity supply. Therefore, the published drafts have no impact on the regulated prices paid by end electricity consumers," the institution specified.
Under the current methodology, ANRE approves on a quarterly basis the regulated prices for the last-resort electricity supply service. In drawing up the drafts, the following were taken into account: the forecast electricity purchase prices of last-resort suppliers for the period July–September 2026, the tariffs for transmission and distribution services, as well as the costs related to the operation of the electricity market.
