State support for export promotion: Bridge Export Program approved by Government
Companies in the Republic of Moldova will receive support to promote their exports. This is stipulated in the Regulation on granting support for the development of foreign trade activities, Bridge Export program, which was approved today by the Government. The new support mechanism was created to encourage export promotion and diversification, strengthen the competitiveness of Moldovan companies, and integrate them into regional and international value chains.
Financial support under the Program will be granted in the form of a de minimis aid scheme.
"This is a program dedicated to business associations in the Republic of Moldova, around 25 in total, with the participation of over 200 companies that will benefit from de minimis state aid ranging from 100,000 lei to 2 million lei, for promoting exports and Moldovan companies. It is a three-year project, worth 60 million lei," Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu said at the cabinet meeting.
According to the Regulation, the Investment Agency will provide funding to beneficiaries for activities carried out for the purpose of export promotion, in an amount of up to 60% of the total eligible costs, but not less than 100,000 lei and not more than 2,000,000 lei.
The purpose of the support is to stimulate the development of foreign trade activities of enterprises from the Republic of Moldova by strengthening the visibility of their products and services on external markets and increasing the volume of exports.
Bridge Export Program will benefit from annual funding of at least 20 million lei and is designed for a period of three years, in order to ensure the continuity, predictability, and efficiency of the support granted to exporters.
