DOC // National Programme for Accession to European Union for 2025–2029 published in Moldova's Official Journal
The 2025-2029 National Programme for Accession to the European Union, which represents the main strategic planning document guiding the reforms required for Moldova’s accession to the EU, was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.
The updated programme has over 880 pages and provides a unified and coherent vision of the reforms, clearly defining institutional responsibilities, implementation deadlines and mechanisms for monitoring progress, including through digital tools.
The document has been supplemented with legislative measures necessary to align the national legislation with EU standards, as well as concrete actions for implementation and for strengthening the institutional capacities. At the same time, it integrates the roadmaps for public administration reform, the rule of law and the work of democratic institutions, as well as the Reform Agenda from the Growth Plan 2025–2027.
Implementation of the National Programme for Accession will contribute to the modernization of public administration, the improvement of services for citizens, enhanced competitiveness of the economy and bringing Moldova closer to European living standards.
In mid-December 2025, Moldova launched technical discussions on the first negotiation chapters for EU accession – Fundamental Values, Internal Market and External Relations. The Moldovan authorities emphasized that this stage marked a crucial phase of the accession negotiations, which will underpin future progress in the process of Moldova’s integration into the European Union.
