Secretary-General of the Government Alexei Buzu today participated in the Enlargement Report 2025: Progress and Future Priorities for Moldova Conference. The event brought together members of the cabinet of ministers, international partners, representatives from academia, the business sector and civil society. The participants discussed Moldova's progress in the European integration process and priorities for strengthening this path.

The head of the State Chancellery talked about the government's strategy for improving decision-making transparency, enhancing citizens’ participation in public decision-making, and increasing civil society's involvement in governmental processes. The secretary-general emphasized that the government would continue to adjust the public participation framework, including by modernizing the www.particip.gov.md portal, which will become more accessible and interactive.

The official also highlighted the public administration reform, particularly at the local level, noting that voluntary amalgamation of localities and improving the quality of public services stay key priorities. At the same time, the government is working on modernizing the public procurement and statistics systems with tools that will allow for more precise measurement of performance and impact of governmental programmes.

‘’In 2026, we need to do much more - the complexity of our work will increase exponentially. In 2024-2025, we laid the foundations – the fundamental building blocks. In 2026, they will start producing visible results. We need cadence, discipline and a sustained pace to deliver these results,’’ said the head of the State Chancellery.

Also, Alexei Buzu appreciated the joint effort of the governmental team, local authorities and civil society: ‘’We have demonstrated that we can form a united, results-oriented team. Everything we do has a single purpose – a more efficient state, a more open administration and a better life for citizens.’’
