Customs procedures to be fully digitalized and interconnected with EU systems by 2030
By 2030, the Republic of Moldova will be ready to fully integrate into the European customs space, ensuring cross-border trade without barriers, less bureaucracy for business environment, increased competitiveness of the national economy and attraction of investments.
In this regard, the Government has approved the national program and action plan for the digitalization of customs procedures and the integration of the Customs Service's information systems with those of the European Union.
The program includes modernization of customs infrastructure - new equipment and information systems, to ensure the rapid and secure exchange of data with EU customs authorities. Additionally, customs personnel will be trained for the efficient use of new technologies and the adaptation of work processes.
The digitalization of customs procedures will support business activities, significantly reducing the time and costs for economic operators in clearing goods, facilitating cross-border trade and the access of Moldovan enterprises to the EU market.
Moreover, the use of advanced information solutions will enhance security and protection at the border, enabling the rapid identification of suspicious goods and combating illegal trafficking.
