Government planted 110 thousand saplings as part of forest generation campaign

The Government of the Republic of Moldova

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, members of the Cabinet and Government employees have planted over 110 thousand saplings in Mihailovca, Cimișlia district, covering an area of 27 hectares. The action aims to rehabilitate the degraded forest fund and create new forests. This is part of the national campaign Forest Generation, launched in 2023 at the initiative of President Maia Sandu.

Across the country, more than 180 locations are available for planting, allowing citizens from different regions to contribute to the afforestation of our country.

Those interested in participating can do so in the coming days by choosing areas near their regions. More information and details on how to register for participation can be found on official page of Moldsilva Agency, by clicking the 'Participate in Autumn 2025 Plantings'.

In total, over 33 million saplings will be planted during the 2025 autumn - 2026 spring season. By 2032, the national afforestation program aims to plant and rehabilitate about 145 thousand hectares of forest.
