Government led by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu sworn in before head of state
The cabinet of ministers, led by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, was sworn in today in the presence of President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu and Speaker Igor Grosu. The head of state congratulated the new members of the Government and said that the Executive has a clear task to meet the expectations of citizens: to continue reforms, maintain peace and decisively advancing on Moldova's European path.
The President emphasized that the new government team takes office at a decisive moment for the country, in which decisions must be taken with the utmost responsibility, and the results should be visible to the people.
“After years in which we had to manage multiple crises and challenges, starting today, we need governance focused more on development, which will complete the transformation of the Republic of Moldova into a modern European state,” Maia Sandu pointed out.
At the same time, the head of state stressed the importance of speeding up economic development: “We need bold measures to ensure economic development through attracting investments, increasing competitiveness, and productivity — because only in this way can we improve the living standards of people.”
Maia Sandu thanked former Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the ministers who concluded their terms for the effort made and the responsibility with which they governed the country during a very complicated period.
Meanwhile, the head of state wished success to the new ministers: “Before you lies a country that needs confidence and results. I wish you strength, wisdom in decisions, and unity in action. May it be a good start, and may you prosper in all that you do for the good of the Republic of Moldova and its people,” Maia Sandu said.
