Deputy Prime Minister held meeting with Ambassador of Kingdom of Belgium to Moldova
On 19 January 2026, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri held a meeting with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Moldova Evert Marechal.
During the discussions, the current situation in the eastern districts of the country was addressed, along with the current problems faced by residents on both banks of the Dniester River, as well as the measures taken by the national authorities to resolve them.
The Belgian diplomat reconfirmed Belgium’s steady support for a comprehensive, peaceful and lasting settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, with full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, as well as for the advancement of the country on European path.
