Moldova opens Honorary Consulate in Province of Quebec, Canada

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Canada has announced the opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in the province of Quebec and the appointment of Serge H. Malaison as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in this Canadian region.

According to the diplomatic mission, the inauguration of this consulate represents "a concrete step in strengthening bilateral relations" between the Republic of Moldova and Canada. The new structure will contribute to expanding economic cooperation, promoting investments, and developing partnerships between the business environments of both countries, as well as intensifying cultural, academic and scientific exchanges.

The Embassy emphasizes that Serge H. Malaison will be "an active partner of the Moldovan community in Quebec" and a promoter of the touristic and cultural-artistic image of the Republic of Moldova.

"The activity of the Honorary Consulate will make a valuable contribution to deepening bilateral relations and strengthening bridges of friendship and collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and the province of Quebec," the Embassy's press release reads.

The honorary representation is located at Rue Sainte-Anne, no. 106, Suite 101, Quebec, QC G1R 3X8, and can be contacted at +1 (418) 476-0180 or via email at serge.malaison@consulat-moldova-qc.ca.

The Republic of Moldova has had diplomatic relations with Canada since 1992. In recent years, bilateral cooperation has expanded in economic, educational, and cultural fields, and the Moldovan community settled in Canada is active, with significant presence in the province of Quebec. The opening of the Honorary Consulate aims to provide more effective support to Moldovan citizens and to enhance Moldova's international presence.
