Moldova's acting agriculture minister at end of mandate says each decision taken with future of agriculture in mind
Ludmila Catlabuga today announced that she was concluding her mandate as Agriculture and Food Industry Minister of Moldova. In a public message, she described the period spent leading the ministry as an intense one, marked by difficult decisions and challenges.
Catlabuga said that the decisions taken during her term had not always been accepted by all sides involved in the sector, noting that they were adopted "in good faith and with the future of Moldovan agriculture in mind."
She thanked farmers, processors, professional associations, ministry’s employees and partners for maintaining dialogue throughout her mandate, including in situations where there were differing opinions.
"Sometimes we agreed, other times we did not, but we tried never to close the door to communication," said Ludmila Catlabuga.
She also wished success to her successor, emphasizing that agriculture needs continuity, bold decisions and dialogue with sector's representatives.
Ludmila Catlabuga took over the leadership of the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry in November 2024.
Designated Prime Minister Vasile Tofan today presented his entire government team, with which he will go to parliament to seek a vote of confidence from the deputies on July 21. The team includes both new names and members of the previous government who will remain in office. In the new government lineup, the position of minister will be held by Radu Musteata, director of the National Food Safety Agency.
