
Romania's presidential elections: over 27,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship cast votes till 17:00
Over 27,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship have exercised their right to vote at Romania's presidential elections by 17:00, being among the most active voters from the Diaspora. About 274,000 Romanians from abroad have participated in the elections in all by this time.
The Romanian citizens from Moldova can exercise their right to vote at the presidential elections of Romania on 3 and 4 May. Sixty four polling stations are open, which operate during 7:00 and 21:00. In the Northern region of the country, 18 polling stations are open, in the Central region - 38 polling stations, of which 20 are in the city of Chisinau, and in the Southern region - 8 polling stations.
To vote in the presidential elections, citizens must present one of the following documents: identity card, electronic identity card, provisional identity card, identity bulletin, diplomatic passport, electronic diplomatic passport, service passport, electronic service passport, ordinary passport, electronic ordinary passport, temporary ordinary passport, military service book (for students in military schools).
At the 965 polling stations abroad, organized for the 2025 presidential elections, Romanian citizens who are abroad on the day of the election can vote, regardless of whether they have or do not have residence or domicile outside the country.
Eleven candidates participate in the presidential race.
