BNS to investigate children's involvement in school, economic, household activities

The National Statistics Bureau (BNS) will conduct a statistical survey Children's Activities on 14 April  -13 July 2025, as an additional module to the Labor Force Survey.

The main objective of the survey is to obtain the most recent national and regional information regarding the socio-demographic characteristics of children aged between 5 and 17 years, and their involvement in school, economic and household activities.

The framework for measuring children's work is structured around two main elements: the child's age and their work activities, including the nature and conditions under which these activities are performed, as well as the duration of engagement in such activities.

The survey will be conducted on a representative sample of households at the national and regional levels, derived from the household sample with children in the selected age range.

The survey results will be disseminated at the end of 2025 and are intended for various user categories, especially policymakers for analyzing and monitoring relevant policies.
