The Alecu Russo State University of Balti has been awarded the Order of the Republic, the highest state distinction of Moldova. The decree to this end was signed by President Maia Sandu, and was published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) today.
The distinction was granted as a sign of appreciation for exceptional merits in the development of higher education and the promotion of scientific research, for the substantial contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists, as well as for the consistent support of national educational, cultural and identity values.
The prestigious award is received by the Alecu Russo State University of Balti, in the context of the university's 80th founding anniversary.
The Alecu Russo State University of Balti is an institution of higher education, a scientific, training and cultural center located in the north of Moldova. It was founded in 1945 and marks its 80th anniversary this year.
