EuroQuiz 2025 // Moldovan students challenged to test knowledge about European Union

Students from grades IX - XII can test their knowledge about the European Union in the EuroQuiz 2025 marathon, launched by the European Integration Office and the Ministry of Education and Research.

The contest is open to students from grades IX - XII, who will participate in teams of five people, alongside a coordinating teacher. The tests will cover topics such as history, geography, European institutions and will encourage active involvement of young people in promoting European values.

Interested participants can register before 20 March. On 24 - 28 March, information sessions for students and teachers will be organized. On 17 April, the district stage of the competition will take place, and on 2 May - the national stage of EuroQuiz.

The Republic of Moldova submitted application for EU membership three years ago, on 3 March 2022. Subsequently, the European Council recognized the European perspective of the Republic of Moldova and granted it candidate country status on 23 June 2022. In November 2023, the European Commission published its report on the Republic of Moldova, recommending the opening of accession negotiations. On 25 June 2024, the European Union officially opened accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova during an intergovernmental conference in Luxembourg.
