Over 1,100 community social workers to get one-off payment of 8,000 lei

Over 1,100 community social workers will receive one-off payment of 8,000 lei. The financial support is intended for frontline employees who work daily to assist vulnerable people. Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu made the statement today.

The official said that these are specialists in the social assistance who are key players in the implementation of RESTART reform. Thus, the measure aims to recognize and reward the efforts of frontline employees who work daily with dedication to support the most vulnerable categories of citizens.

"This is support offered in recognition of their efforts, including in the context of RESTART reform. I am very pleased to announce additional support for people who work daily, on the front lines, in the social assistance system. On this occasion, I want to thank them once again for their dedication and the results. They are the true pillars of our social protection system, and through their continuous work, they directly contribute to improving the lives of the most vulnerable citizens. I thank them for commitment and am extremely proud of my colleagues," noted Alexei Buzu.

According to data from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MMPS), several categories of employees will benefit from the bonus. It is about 1,007 community social workers under the ministry's jurisdiction, who will receive a one-off payment of 8,000 lei. 1,648 social workers under the MMPS will receive 2,500 lei.

Last year, with the support of development partners, 9,751 employees of institutions in the social field received a salary bonus from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
