PHOTO National Police of Moldova receive 90 vehicles provided by Romania, Germany

The National Police have received 90 new vehicles for police inspectorates in the territory. The donation was provided on behalf of the government of Romania and Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.

According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the vehicles are meant to improve the mobility and capacity of intervention of the automobiles, ensuring a quicker and more efficient response in the fight against the criminality and ensuring a prompt answer to citizens’ requests.

„The ensuring of an enhanced level of safety for citizens, as well as for the employees of the National Police stays a priority of the IGP’s leadership. Therefore, policemen’s endowment represents a continuity of the activities of renewal and completion of the equipment and technology needed for the operative work,’’ IGP said.

Thus, 44 automobiles, worth over 1 million euros, were provided by the Federal Foreign Affairs Ministry of Germany, within the Enable & Enhance Initiative. The action is meant to consolidate the capacities of the territorial police subdivisions, with predominant emphasis on the territorial subdivisions placed along the security administrative line.

Another 46 vehicles, worth about 1 million euros, were provided by the government of Romania, within the project on Strengthening the capacities of management of the public order situations, based on the Agreement between the governments of Moldova and Romania.  The transport means are meant for improving the quality of public order and community security services.
