Moldova - safe and open for visitors, foreign ministry says
Moldova is safe and open for visitors. Only people who raise concerns for the relevant authorities are turned back, according to the law. This stance was expressed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chișinău, following the Russian Foreign Ministry issuing a warning to Russian citizens planning to travel to our country.
“Moldova is a safe and open country for visitors. We regret that the Russian authorities choose, once again, to strain relations and create division through unfounded statements. Only people who raise concerns for the relevant authorities are turned back, according to the law. Everyone else is welcome to enjoy the proverbial hospitality of Moldovans”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chișinău said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a warning for Russian citizens intending to travel to Moldova, citing alleged strict controls and entry refusals.
