
Wrestler Irina Rîngaci becomes European vice-champion for fifth year in row
Wrestler Irina Rîngaci, 23 years old, won the silver medal at the European Wrestling Championships in Bratislava, marking the fifth year in a row she has reached the continental podium.
According to the National Olympic and Sports Committee, the wrestler had an impressive journey to the finals of the 65 kg category, defeating Eniko Elekes (Hungary) and Iryna Koliadenko (Ukraine). In the gold medal match, Rîngaci was surpassed by Grace Bullen from Norway.
In the Greco-Roman wrestling competition, Artiom Deleanu (55 kg category) will fight for the bronze medal against Slovak Arnold Megaly. Meanwhile, two other Moldovan wrestlers, Vitalie Eriomenco (63 kg) and Alexandru Solovei (77 kg) will attempt to reach the podium through repechage matches.
The European Wrestling Championships are taking place on April 7-13 in the Slovak capital, Bratislava.
