Chisinau, 11 November /MOLDPRES/- The secretariat of the Economic Council to the Prime Minister today, announced that the Customs Service would publish the lists of Moldovan enterprises subjected to control, on the official webpage of the State Register of Controls. More than a third of the institutions in charge of control are using the State Register of Controls to inform of their activity.
The secretariat ascertains that the Customs Service will publish the results of state controls on the controale.gov.md official webpage on a quarterly basis, though it is not compelled by the law to do so. Nevertheless, the unveiling of such information will help enhance transparency of state bodies, consolidate economic agents’ confidence in state institutions and create a transparent and advantageous environment for business development in Moldova.
Though the law on state control was adopted in 2012, 70 per cent of all the control institutions do not make full use of the State Register of Controls, despite their “obligation to do so”.
Both Moldova’s development partners and entrepreneurs believe controls at economic agents’ enterprises represent one of the most corruptible activities in the interaction between state bodies and the business environment. A way to prevent abuse and bribery in this respect would be to enhance transparency and use clear and predictable criteria in planning such controls.
