Moldovan government, parliament set priorities for spring session

Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/- The government and parliament today set the priorities for the spring parliamentary session and those for this year at a joint meeting.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the main priority for 2017 was the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union. “We have today put forward an action plan for implementing the Association Agreement with EU for 2017-2019, which requires a new organization. Also, it is extremely important the central and local public administration reform. We decided we will focus on reforms meant to ensure improvement of life, based on development and fortification”, he said.
For his part, Speaker Andrian Candu noted that 2016 was an extremely difficult year, but very productive. “Last year we collaborated effectively with government. We managed to initiate and continue major reforms such as: reforms in justice, social, including pension reform and banking system. Today we discussed and set more technical points which provide activity between the two institutions for effective execution of goals set in the new parliamentary session and for this year”, he said.
Spring parliamentary session begins in February and is due late July.
