Joint Control Commission holds meeting in Bender

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ – There was held a regular meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), presided by Moldovan delegation on 16 February, in Bender city, where  were discussed 13 issues, according to the Moldovan delegation to the JCC press service.

During the meeting, there were confirmed lieutenants-colonels Ilie Strijca and Leodor Budeci in the position of military observers from Moldova, while Colonel Sergei Rybakov was submitted by the Russian delegation to the position of senior military chief of peacekeeping forces on behalf of the Russian Federation.

According to agenda, JCC members had heard the report of the Joint Military Command (MIC) on the situation in Security Zone (SZ) on 8 – 14 February 2017.

By initiative of Moldovan delegation, it was discussed the incident, on 5 December 2012 in Sector South of SZ about installing illegitimate "frontier" crossing posts by ferry "Slobozia – Cremenciug" and around village Zagornoe. As Transnistrian component cited the need to additional documentation on the topic, the subject is supposed to be retackle at the next meeting.

Also, Moldovan delegation to JCC addressed to its counterparts on organization of events dedicated to the commemoration of 25 years since the beginning of combat actions to safeguard the integrity and independence of Moldova and called for legal structures in interaction with joint peacekeeping forces representatives, to commonly public order in this period of time.

Every JCC’s components, including representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission to Moldova supported and signed the above-stated demand.
