Session of admission to universities starts in Moldova

Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ – The first admission session started at the universities of Moldova, today.

According to the representatives of the educational institutions, the exact number of available places is still not clear, as the Education Ministry has not yet presented the Official Admission Plan. At the same time, more sources claim that prices for study contracts have increased insignificantly.

Interviewed by the agency, the secretary of the admission committee of the State University of Moldova (USM), Veronica Gladchii, specified that the young people could submit the papers to 80 specialties within the 13 faculties. "The results of the first tour will be presented on 05 August, after which there will be other admissions," said Gladchii.

Also, the responsible secretary of the admittance commission at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMF) Nicolae Testemitanu, Victoria Brocovschi, stated that within the educational institution the study contracts remained unchanged. "The young people can file their papers starting today, then the preliminary results will be presented prior 03 August, after which the documents will be presented in original and the final results will be displayed until 09 August. Those enrolled in the contract at the faculty of general medicine will pay the fee of MDL 28,800, in pharmacy – MDL 29,200 and dentistry – MDL 30,400", said Victoria Brocovschi.

The member of the admissions committee at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM), Olivia Prisacari, noted that graduates could submit their papers to three faculties simultaneously, and then they would choose one where they to study. "The young people can choose between 16 faculties and contracts vary from MDL 7,500 to MDL 8,500. There are four admission sessions totally, and the final results will be presented on 29 August," said the quoted source.

The representatives of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) reported to the agency that the graduates could file their papers simultaneously with five faculties. "They can choose from nine faculties and over 60 specialties. The announcement of interim results will take place on 01 August, filing the original documents until 04 August and announcing the final results – 05 August. The student contracts start at MDL 7,500 at the Faculty of Textile and Polygraphy and up to 11,000 lei – Architecture and Urbanism," said Olga Drugaliov, a member of the university admission committee.

The responsible secretary for the admission commission of Chisinau State Pedagogical University Ion Creanga, Maria Virlan, informed the agency that the educational institution proposed the school-leavers to choose between six faculties and 56 full-time specialties and 15 part-time specialties. "The young people can submit their papers to all six faculties at the same time. If to compare to the previous academic year, the contracts increased by about MDL 200. Thus, the students of the Romanian language and literature will pay less and the most will pay the ones from foreign language specialties – MDL 6,000. Totally, there will be three admissions sessions, and the results will be clear on 01 August," said Virlan.

The press service of Balti State University Alecu Russo announced today that young people had the opportunity to choose from about 50 specialties in the bachelor cycle. Similarly, Edinet city operates a mobile admission centre at the University of Balti, especially for high school graduates from Edinet, Briceni and Drochia districts.

The admission to universities takes place on 24 and 31 July.
