Chisinau, 17 June. /MOLDPRES/ - Over 10 thousand employees in the social system are to be trained by the end of 2025 through a RESTART Learning Lab. The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and 21 development partners of the institution signed today a joint commitment to support and develop the Laboratory.

Minister of Labour and Social Protection Alexei Buzu said that the joint declaration will confirm the parties' commitment to work together to strengthen the social assistance system, in particular by investing in front-line employees: social, personal and community assistants, etc.

"We thank the partners for supporting our efforts in the RESTART reform, which envisages a radical change in social services in the Republic of Moldova. We want to improve access to social services. It is important to make investments in frontline professionals, which has been missing for many years. The quality of the services depends on the skills and knowledge of our frontline colleagues, which is why we want them to become better and more efficient," said Alexei Buzu.

Partners participating in the event welcomed the signing of the document and noted that "it is very important for Moldova to align with European standards on lifelong learning in order to raise the level of training of specialists in the field".

Following the signing of the document, more than 10 thousand employees will be trained over the next two years. So far, 4 000 specialists have been trained and another 6 000 will be trained by the end of this year. Officials also say a priority will be the creation of online modules to provide training across a broad spectrum.
