New secretary general of parliament appointed

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/- Igor Talmazan is new Secretary General of Parliament. Speaker Igor Grosu signed an order on his appointment.

Igor Talmazan is a lawyer by profession. Previously, he was director of the Customs Service and Secretary General of the Government. He has also served as head of the State Ecological Inspectorate, deputy environment minister. In 2021, Talmazan was elected MP.

According to the Parliament's Regulations, the secretary general is appointed by the speaker with prior consultation of the Standing Bureau and approval of the legal committee on rules and immunities.

Tamara Gheorghița, who served as secretary general from September 2021 to June 2024 will be deputy secretary general of Parliament.
