Parliament organizes conference dedicated to institution's role in European integration

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, through the European Integration Committee, together with the European Integration Office will organize on 25 November 2025 a conference - Parliament of the Republic of Moldova – Full Commitment to European Integration, a platform for interinstitutional dialogue aimed at enhancing the Legislature's involvement in the European Union accession process.

The event takes place in the context of the publication of the European Commission's Enlargement Report on November 4, 2025, a document confirming the substantial progress made by the Republic of Moldova over the past year and highlighting the need to accelerate legislative alignment with European standards.

According to the European Integration Committee, the conference will bring together representatives from the Parliament, Government, European Parliament Office in Chișinău, European Union Delegation, development partners, local authorities, academic community, civil society organizations and media.

“Accession to the European Union entails profound transformations not only at the legislative level but also institutionally, economically, and socially. Parliament must ensure a predictable legislative process and promote the necessary consensus for the reform agenda. The mission of Parliament is to contribute to accelerating the transposition of European legislation and the implementation of the mechanisms and standards recommended by the European Commission in the negotiation process. On our path to the European Union, we must ensure that the reforms are carried out to improve citizens' lives and ensure the well-being and peace of future generations,” said Marcel Spătari, President of the European Integration Committee.

The main aim of the conference is to strengthen cooperation and communication between Parliament, Government, and civil society to enhance transparency and public participation throughout the European integration process. At the same time, the event seeks to promote the exchange of experience with European partners and other candidate states, contributing to the development of a European institutional culture based on partnership and shared responsibility.

The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is intensifying its role in the EU accession process, given that the recommendations of the European Commission and the dynamics of negotiations require the acceleration of structural reforms and the adaptation of the legislative framework to the EU acquis. The conference is part of a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional capacities and developing an extensive dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders involved in the country's European path.
