President met with Ambassadors of EU member states and G7 countries accredited to Moldova
Today at the Presidency, President Maia Sandu held a meeting with the ambassadors of the European Union member states and of the Group of Seven (G7) accredited to Chișinău.
The discussion focused on current political developments, the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova, and the priorities for cooperation with external partners. The head of state and the ambassadors addressed the next stages of the accession process to the European Union, and the President underlined that reforms are continuing and that alignment with European legislation and standards remains the central priority of the authorities.
In this context, Maia Sandu welcomed the decision of the EU member states to open accession negotiations on Cluster 6 – External Relations, within which the Republic of Moldova will fully align its foreign, security, and trade policy with that of the European Union.
The President reaffirmed that the Republic of Moldova remains committed to advancing in the accession process on a merit-based approach, with the objective of being ready to become an EU member by the end of this decade.
