President Maia Sandu today participated in the General Assembly of the European Business Association (EBA), an event that brought together approximately 250 EBA members – entrepreneurs, investors and representatives from various economic sectors, ranging from energy and production to financial services and technology.

In her speech, the head of state thanked the business community for its contribution to the economic development of the country and for supporting the process of European modernization and integration of Moldova. The Moldovan president emphasized that one of the essential priorities for the coming period must be increasing labor productivity – a goal for which European integration provides the necessary framework, tools and opportunities.

"We want to substantially increase labor productivity in all sectors of the economy. We all want more competitive products and services capable of keeping up with the European market. This depends on how agile, creative and resilient we are in the face of challenges. European integration stays our fundamental strategy, including for the business environment. We cannot afford to miss this opportunity – which also means access to financial resources, support programmes for companies and initiatives for skill development and workforce quality," said President Sandu.

The European Business Association (EBA) is a non-governmental organization, founded by ten of the largest investors in Moldova and created under the auspices of the European Union Delegation in Chisinau. Presently, EBA brings together over 80 companies in key economic sectors and promotes EU standards, European values and the best management practices within Moldova's entrepreneurial community.

EBA is an active partner in the process of economic reform, contributing expertise and recommendations in such areas as taxation, trade, infrastructure, digitalization, and economic education.
