
64 polling stations to be opened in Moldova for Romanian presidential elections
64 polling stations will be opened in the Republic of Moldova for Romanian presidential elections. This represents an increase of five stations compared to the elections at the end of last year. Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) of Bucharest unveiled the information today.
According to Romania's MAE, the most polling stations will be opened in Chișinău – a total of 20. In Orhei, Bălți, Ungheni, and Cahul, two stations will be opened in each city, while in other localities around the country, one station will be available.
For the presidential elections in May, Romanian authorities have decided to open 965 polling stations outside the country, which is 15 more than during the previous election.
Romanian citizens living abroad will have three days to cast their votes. For the first round – on 2, 3 and 4 May, and in case of runoff– on 16, 17 and 18 May.
The polling stations are scheduled to close on 4 May at 9:00 PM.
