
Latvian speaker to visit Chisinau
Speaker of the Saeima the Republic of Latvia Daiga Mieriņa will pay a visit to Moldova on 14-15 April.
The official will have a meeting with Speaker Igor Grosu, followed by a joint press conference, during which they will discuss Moldovan-Latvian cooperation. The press statements are scheduled for 14 April starting at 9:45 AM.
The Latvian official has scheduled discussions with deputy speaker Doina Gherman and MP Alina Dandara, head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Republic of Latvia.
The visit agenda also includes discussions with President Maia Sandu, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihail Popșoi.
On 15 April, the Latvian official will go to Ungheni to meet with representatives of local public authorities and socio-economic sectors in the region.
The issues will address opportunities to enhance Moldovan-Latvian cooperation, including in the context of advancing the European path of the Republic of Moldova.
This is the first visit of Daiga Mieriņa to Moldova.
