
Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets OSCE Special Representative for Transnistrian Settlement
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi has had a meeting with Ambassador Thomas Lenk, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, on a working visit to Moldova.
The discussions focused on the political and security situation in the country, as well as the latest developments in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process.
The two officials analyzed future perspectives and emphasized the importance of maintaining a constant dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol.
The Moldovan diplomacy head reiterated the authorities' commitment to an exclusively peaceful resolution of the conflict, by political means, with respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova, within internationally recognized borders.
The officials also stressed the need to continue actions that contribute to the gradual integration of the Transnistrian region into the legal framework of the Republic of Moldova and to solve the problems affecting the inhabitants on both banks of the Dniester River.
