Moldovan lawmakers to convene at plenary meeting on July 24; agenda includes 23 draft laws, including 12 with EU label

The MPs will convene at a plenary meeting on July 24, after the parliament’s standing bureau approved the agenda. The legislature’s agenda includes 23 draft laws, 12 of which concern the harmonization of national legislation with the European Union acquis.

Among them, there is the draft law that sets accessibility requirements applicable to certain categories of products and services, in order to ensure the necessary conditions for their use by all categories of people, including persons with disabilities. The lawmakers will also examine draft laws on the crypto‑assets’ market, markets of financial instruments and investment activities, as well as the draft law on state aid.

The agenda also includes, for consideration in the first reading, draft laws on the involvement of citizens and civil society in the decision‑making process, the application of the principle of equal treatment between women and men in the field of social security, the alignment of the regulatory framework with the standards applicable to equality bodies, as well as the recognition of professional qualifications in the health sector got in other states.

At the same time, the MPs will discuss draft laws concerning the compensation of damage caused by unlawful acts committed in criminal and contravention proceedings, the digitalization of certain judicial procedures, the strengthening of the legal framework on the criminal liability of legal entities and the draft law on combating abusive lawsuits against public participation (SLAPP). Also in the first reading, the parliament will examine the draft law on the accession of Moldova to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters.

The session’s agenda also includes draft amendments to the Law on fluorinated greenhouse gases and the Law on hunting and the protection of game resources. The parliament is also to ratify more international agreements and denounce the Agreement on cooperation in the field of publishing, book distribution and printing concluded within the Commonwealth of Independent States.

In the second reading, MPs will examine the draft law aimed at reducing the period for declaring a state of emergency.
